About Tammy

Tammy loves spending time with her husband and kids, friends, and dogs Ollie and Esther. She enjoys the outdoors, and a good walk in the hills, beach, or park. Tammy is all about balance in her life, and for her this includes healthy exercise and diet, spirituality, mental health, fun, time out with others and self, creative interests, getting away, and doing the job she loves.

Tammy has a Bachelor Degree in Applied Social Science Counselling, and is a member of Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Tammy has trained in Emotion Focused Couple Therapy, and Gottman Therapy.

Before starting her private practice, Tammy worked in the Not For Profit sector, supporting the disadvantaged. This intensified her passion for working with families struggling with domestic violence.

Tammy is very passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families to build strong, healthy, lasting relationships. Tammy thrives in seeing couples overcome their struggles to strengthen their relationships and family. She feels humbled to be trusted by couples to open up and share some of their hardest and most vulnerable moments. Couple counselling for Tammy is not work but something she feels she was born to do.

Tammy is experienced in facilitating group work including supporting women during and after domestic violence, and parenting groups. She loves how participants come to understand they are not alone, and the support they receive from each other to grow through their experiences and reclaim their lives.

In her spare time you’ll find Tammy out walking her beloved Labradors, exploring new recipes, gardening, painting, reading with a good cup of tea, and chilling with her friends and family.

“My husband and I have been attending marriage counselling with Tammy for over 6 months. We have benefited enormously from her experience, insights and wisdom. Tammy is extremely skilful in discerning and exploring the emotions that lie behind our words and actions. This has helped us better understand ourselves and each other. She has helped us to see negative habits that have been destructive in our relationship and to learn new ways of communicating.”
